I went to the Gardens Centre @Home Store earlier this afternoon, in Cape Town.
I saw some items (Natures Kaleidoscope - Hanging Decor) hanging from a "Markdown" table in the store - with big signage "Up to 75% Off! ".
When I took these items to the tillpoint - the Cashier said to me that these weren't marked down. Another lady was standing next to her (at the tills) - she then confirmed that these specific items were positioned at the "Markdown" Table, because they didn't have place for these items anywhere else.
I was informed that I qualified for a R40.00 discount, based on a previous purchase at American Swiss - but that I wasn't going to get any discount on these items! I was extremely disappointed by the lack of empathy from both these staff members.
I certainly didn't believe that I was treated like a valued customer (even more so, as I am a card holder - American Swiss).
I ended up buying these items at the "advertised" price - but was very disappointed that the Store made no real effort to even offer me any discount, since these items were merchandised on the "Markdown" Table.
I would appreciate a phone call from your Area/Regional Manager in C.T.
