Cant Buy with D/L or ID

On Sunday the 1st of December at about 9.30am I went into your Markams store in Mimosa Mall in Bloemfontein. When I tried to put the purchases on my account and wanted to use my drivers licenses, I was told that you do not accept Drivers Licenses or South African ID books to do this? I was told that this is company policy and that it was to prevent. SO... If my Card is out of my wallet, and the perpetrator takes my card and uses it to purchase on my account, that will be fine. But if I try to purchase on my account using only my D.L or I.D, that's not?
Coupled to this, I have made purchases this entire year, without producing my card once, but only used my ID Book. Again, how is it that I am able to draw thousands of Rands from my bank account using my ID book, but can't purchase for R1000 with the same ID Book? I have called the customer call centre and was given this number to contact 021 9387031, on this number I have left more than 10 messages but no one has contacted me. Further more I sent an email on the 2nd of December and the 4th with no reply. Wonderful service, the following week i went into Woolworths and spent R2000 there instead. Well Done TFG!
