We purchased a Russell Hobbs iron at Hirsch's in Fourways on 01/09/2012, it had a 1 year Warranty. It stopped working at the beginning of November, less than 2 months after expiry of the Warranty. I took it back to Hirsch's today, and they told me there was very little they could do, and I should purchase a new one. They did offer me to accept it for repairs, but I would have to pay R200 upfront and non refundable? The Iron cost just under R600, who would pay 30% of the value of a new unit, with no guarantee of repair? No alternative solution or offer was made. Not much or can do about poor service, except for the fact that I will NEVER step foot into a Hirsch's store again in my life, neither will I purchased another Russell Hobbs appliance, and I would urge others to tread with caution
