My domestic helper bought a BlackBerry cell phone for R204 per month from Russells. The phone reboots frequently (several times an hour). When she took it back they said it was water damage so they could not repair it and would not replace it, even with a used phone. So she has to pay every month for something that does not work.
I was also shocked that the phone comes with no airtime - I think the same phone from MTN is R169 per month with 100 minutes air time and free BlackBerry Messenger Service. She had to pay R60 for BBM every month, plus airtime. If they are charging so much, surely they can include insurance or a better warranty?
