MTN - CAN'T/WON'T REPAIR BLACKBERRY

Summary (LONG STORY):
Blackberry Torch not working - taken to MTN 4/1/2013.
Told phone would be back/replaced by 9/1/2013. NO replacement phone?
Wed - no cell. Continuous phoning, when can we get cell?? Tomorrow... next week...
Informed by Aaron@MTN: repaired cell can be collected on Fri 18/1 (2 weeks later) FRUSTRATION!!
18/1 went to fetch, Aaron day off. Manager checked, cell not EVEN sent away. System problem saying it was NOT a Blackberry - their systems changed. She would investigate. Advised following week problem sorted out, Blackberry sent for repair.
Informed phone could not be repaired it had WET damage!! Phone NEVER got WET!! but... we live in East London - high humidity?? Told would call us when Cell was back. Never did. Went in to store on 31/1 - almost a full month after handing in, yes Cell here, just didnt let you know. Told to take it to some "backyard" repairman, who CAN repair it... BUT MTN, who sells the phone, STILL under warranty, and issues it, Cannot??? Have heard of more than 5 Blackberry users told phones had WET damage - if Blackberry cannot be used in a HUMID climate - WHY Sell it here/not warn users?
Cell contract is in my Hubby's name.
