Bought a blackberry9380, 31st of December, was told to charge the phone before use (did that). Bought and setup BIS etc. I went on holiday and when I was ready to start using the phone, i discovered that the back button is not working.(i put it back into the box to return it, did not use it). The initial protective covers are still on the phone. Upon my arrival back I took it back to the store and was informed that seeing that it is the 8th day and not the 7thday returning, it has to go to Vodacom repair.the phone was taken to the hatfield repair shop and was returned, but still the back button was faulty (not repaired). I returned the phone and today after more then 10days when i enquired i was told that a quotation was sent to me for an amount of 1860 for repairs - water damage. This is unacceptable! as this is a brand new phone i bought that i did not even have the privilege of using to start with, this must have been a substandard faulty phone i was sold. Surely this must have been picked up with the first assessment. How can i pay for something i did not use and definitely did not damage in anyway. I also dnt want a refurbished phone as i paid for a new phn, or i want money back
