Not honoring their 10 working day return policie

On 16/07/13 I purchased an ipad from incredible connection pavilion as a gift for my parents. The first time I plugged the charger in it seemed a little tight but slotted in. The second time charging it was still tight. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the small black card on the inside of the port, had the corner cracked off and was only hanging on by a small amount of plastic. Upon seeing this I returned it to incredible connection on 26/07/13 which is within 10 working days. I was told by the manager that they would have to send it to their supplier ' core' to deduce whether the damage caused was due to my negligence. I insisted that it couldn't be as I've owned many apple products with the same charger port and know perfectly well how to insert it. The black card was also broken off from inside the ipad as if the charger caused it when it was removed.
When I was contacted by incredible connection on 2/8/13, they informed me that their supplier had checked the ipad and that it was physically damaged and therefore caused by negligence on my part (negligence and physical damage aren't the same thing). I have been told by manager Nazir Sadack to contact the supplier.
