In March this year I purchased a Fossil watch from Sterns Gateway. On Saturday 22 June, one of the pieces on the watch face came loose and interfered with operation of the watch. On Sunday 23 June I went to Sterns Pavillion as this is the store closest to me. I showed the watch to Sumaya who recommended that the watch be repaired. I told her that I did not want the watch repaired and that I wanted a replacement or refund in terms of the CPA. She then looked at the watch again and said she could not take it in as the watch had a few surface scratches and therefore she would not be able to sell the watch again. I explained that the scratches were normal wear and tear and she refused to budge. I also noted that when i purchased the watch it did have a few minor scratches that the assistant said was related to the display. I asked to speak to the manager and Sumaya stated that she was in charge and there was not other manager on duty that day. After hearing Sumaya's comments I am now concerned that I originally purchased a repaired watch at the full retail value. Why arent sales assistant trained on the CPA.
