Insufficient Till point/ long waiting periods

I popped in at Pay & Pay Northgate yesterday to get a few items. On arrival at the till points the queues were long with on average about 7-8 peoples standing in line to be helped at the tills. Few tills were open. In front of me was an old German lady of 87 years who wanted to purchase a packet of carrots and a TV Plus magazine. We stood in line for 20 minutes while the staff were lazily scanning items. The old lady was by that time exhausted. On getting to the till point, after having stood in line for what was now 25 min I asked what the problem was and why so few till points were open. To my shock I was told that the rest of the Pick & Pay staff were at home because of budget cuts. The manager was not available and there is nothing that they as staff can do about he situation. I was given the name of the store manager while another staff member with the name tag Stanley was on the floor and witnessing the chaos in the store. He was joking with staff members and packers whilst customers were standing in long queues.
I as a customer will not go back to your store. The attitude of the staff members are horrendous and customers are being treated with disrespect .
