My wife went to the store to obtain my chronic medication and was given the medication. On Saturday at about 12:00 I took the medication noticing that the tablets where larger than normal, but thought different manufactures had different size tablets. At about 13:00 I fell asleep and woke up 17 hours later. On checking the medication the sticker said 25mg of Dopaquel but the box was 200mg tablets. I took a dose 8 times stronger than was prescribed to me. The response from the pharmacist was the lady who dispensed the medication is a locum pharmacist and she is only human. This mistake could have cost me my life or serious complications. I feel the response from the pharmacist is unacceptable. The pharmacist explained it was a serious mistake and was a locum pharmacist, but the most that would happen is that she would be reprimanded. Was TOLD there was only one full time pharmacist and could not be expected to work 7 days a week, hence locums, I just feel that if clicks is going to open pharmacys at all stores they need full time staff so as to be sure that there is responsible staff all the time. My wife has mailed a complaint to pharmacy council too.
