I recently went to Liquor City Glen Hyper with my mother, where I wanted to buy a gift for my brother's birthday (this shortly before closing time). I noticed the tipo tinto with free Sparberry was on special for R129.99. However the Bottle alone cost R119.99
When I asked the manager on duty why there was a difference in the usual price and the price with a "free" colddrink, he said nothing in life is free and he doesn't need my kind in his store (this was NOT a comment). When I told them to cancel my purchase, the manager said he will as he doesn't need someone who has never been to his store before to buy there (I used to buy there often before I moved). The store assistant asked me not to argue with him as he takes it out afterwards on them.
When I told the manager I would lay a complaint on hello peter and with the franchisers, he told me to do whatever I wanted just as long as I leave "his" store.
Had the manager not been rude I would have continued with my purchase, and kept coming back to the store. However I now went to a different store, bought the exact same stuff and paid less. You've lost a customer, and this store gained one.
