I recently moved out of a Just Letting unit that I rented. When I eventually got my deposit (6 weeks after I moved out) - I found out that they took R 1, 351.58 to paint the wall that was dirty since the 1st day we moved in. In fact, when we moved in there was no inspection done or document filled of the damages. We moved in on Saturday. When I called the listing agent (Ragel Scheepers) on Monday to tell her of the current conditions she said it was noted & that they would take care of it. But they never did. I believe it was their intention from the word go to use my deposit money to fix the unit instead of rightfully giving that responsibility to the owner.
Every time I called for maintenance, the lady responsible for maintenance (Lorraine Knight) would say the owner does not want to pay or the owner is uncooperative. This whole experience has been infuriating because whenever I call the Just Letting office I am sent from pillar to post. Despite leaving my contact details with the receptionist every time I call - no one gets back to me. They even blocked my e-mail address (I checked by sending the same e-mail from a different address - it goes through). I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!
