Cancellation of Gym Benefits

I joined Vitality in 2008 and immediately joined the gym through their benefit. I have used the benefit extensively over the years and maintain a healthy lifestyle, thus achieving a Gold status on Vitality. Last year I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, and along with extreme pressure in my work environment, I was unable to use the gym as much as I would have liked. With Vitality changing their minimum requirements for gym visits, I found myself 1 visit short of the required minimum and my membership was cancelled. Despite clear evidence that I was maintaining a healthy lifestyle and restoring my number of gym visits to the level I was at before my illness was under control, Vitality refused to reinstate my membership on the same terms that I had joined on. I can't understand how a company cannot make a concession for a member that clearly shows a commitment to their programme. I will now be cancelling my membership, as I refuse to pay R1800 a year to company that is willing to lose a member over a single gym visit. I am disappointed in Vitality's attitude towards this, and am angered at how they get away with fee increases and constantly change their goal posts.
