Cancellation of Virgin Active Gym membership

I have been a member of Vitality since 2005 and a Virgin Active member for as many years. I am on Gold status and will be a Diamond member next year. I have been informed that my Virgin Active gym membership will be cancelled because as at 31 August I will be 4 visit short of the minimum requirement - 36 visits - irrespective of the fact that under the Get Active category I have 25 000 points and am earning only 25 points per gym visit. I have also like many other people advised Vitality that I had a shoulder injury and that I could not train in the gym as is required. I am an ex-employee and have always defended Discovery, but the "scripted" response I got from no less than 3 Vitality consultants has left me feeling very frustrated. I have been told that an "exception" has been made that if I do a "continuation" of my gym contract on the "new" gym fee structure - I am allowed to make up my visits in September - but this is not possible on the current fee structure that I am on - which leads me to only 1 conclusion - if you are a "before 31 December 2009" gym member nobody will listen to you and the mandate is clear that no exceptions will be made... very disappointed!
