I joined Vitality in 2009. Last year Oct (2012) I got married and Discovery just cancelled my Vitality membership wihtout notifying me. When I phoned to find out why, they said it's because my husband is also on Vitality. They transferred me over to his Vitality and assured me that NOTHING would change to my membership (not the gym benefit, Ster-kinekor, Clicks, Healthyfood... nothing). Suddenly a debit order has gone off of my account (without me authorising it - is this not illegal?) for gym membership for the past 2 months. When I joined, the contract said: gym for free for the rest of your life if you go atleast 24 times in a 12 month revolving period. Now that they cancelled my Vitality and forced me to transfer over to my husband's membership (as we can't both have our own Vitality), my membership changed while they assured me nothing would change with the switch. Lack of communication has always been a weak point for Discovery and I am sick & tired of having to follow up because they just change things without any notification.
