I joined this medical aid in December last year after changing jobs and had to move from discovery health. I was admitted in hospital for an Axillar abscess operation in February and now Momentum wont settle the bill because of their non disclosure clause. I submitted my clinical history for the last 12 months for an investigation and they discovered that i was treated twice for this illness and on those grounds my contract was cancelled. the funny thing is i received this correspondence today but a premium was deducted from my account already. I am a nurse by profession and i was only asked to declare chronic illnesses on application as well as previous operations. An abscess is not a chronic illness therefore i think it is unfair that my bill is not settled and the fact that no one took the time to call and explain, i only received emails and now I have a R15000 bill to pay and have lost all my premiums that i have been paying for days like when i was admitted. I feel that more can be done for me as their client. Frankly I don't have that kind of money that is why i joined their medical aid scheme. I hope someone out there can assist me with this to at least get my premiums back
