My name is Jacqueline Terblanche. I joined momentum health medical aid on the 1st of June 2013 on the Incentive option. My two year old daughter became sick with adominal pain. I did what any mother would do and took her to Hospital. They admitted her on the 16th of July. It is now the 18th of July and still I have not received auth. The hospital has informed me now that they have no choice but to change my daughter's admission to a private account. The quotation for her treatment as a private patient will amount
to R25 000.
The hospital has been in contact with Momentum Health daily and have faxed all the neccesary letters of motivation from the dr to them and Momentum still insists that the authoriztion request is under investigation for a possible non-declaration.
Now the question is what do I do??? Where do I get that type of money??? How can a two year old have an exsisting illness that was not declared?? My child is admitted for severe abdominal pain and never had any symptoms before. As mother I tried everything and am desperate for Momentum Health to authorise the medical treatment that is my childs right.
