Medi-Clinic
Incorrect and mis-leading information given!!!

After seeing my Dr I was told to go down to admissions within the hospital and get authorisation for a procedure which was booked for the 19th of Feb. I sat with a woman from Cape Gate reception who took all my details and contacted discovery for auth codes.
Prior to signing the documentation she explained that there was a co-pay/deductible of around R2600 which would only be applicable if i were to stay over night. I confirmed that this co-payment would NOT be taken as i was booked in for a half day procedure, and would be leaving same day should all go as planned. SHe reassured me SEVERAL times that this amount would NOT be taken unless I stayed over night.
I received an email this AM from discovery which shows R2850 was taken from my savings account as the account was processed from their end. DIscovery informed me that there is a co-payment for this procedure regardless if i stay over or not.
I am BEYOND frustrated and ANGRY at the fact that this woman provided me with MISLEADING AND INCORRECT information which casued me to lose R2850 from my savings pocket. I have 2 very small children and need to keep my savings! I WANT MY MONEY BACK, HOSPITAL MUST PAY!!!
