I had my virgin active gym benefit activated in 2009. I was pregnant from 2010 every year until this year. During my first pregnancy I was able to suspend my gym benefit till after I had the baby. I then had to make up the 36 visits. During my pregnancy this year, I was unable to make it to the gym. I was on bed rest. And suffered with severe sciatica and hyperemisis gravidarum and was hospitalised for it. I could barely make it up the stairs. I sent a letter to discovery and made numerous calls to them, as well as have my broker contact them and my doctor write them a letter. I got one response saying they no longer suspend gym benefit, and another saying they will look into the matter to have my contract renewed at the old rate i had. Its been over 6 months and I still Have not gotten a response. I was told by 1 of the call centre agents that I should just force myself to the gym and swipe and leave after explaining to her that I was unable due to pregnancy and my condition. I wasn't prepared to endanger myself or my baby and so my contract was cancelled and now I'm expected to pay for something which shouldn't have been taken away from me due to my health.
