My wife was notified on the 25.09.13 that she needed to visit the gym 3 more times before the 31.10.2013 in order to maintain the benefit. She replied (30.09.13) indicating the sensitive nature of her pregnancy and recommendation from her Gynae to get more bed rest - she asked for this requirement to be waived. She did nevertheless go to the gym to merely swipe her card 3x before the 31.10.13 (reflected on Discovery's website). She gave birth on the 16.10.13 and was in hospital for 5 days. Disc then requested a letter from the doctor which was duly submitted. Assuming that this would resolve itself, she resumed visits to the gym during December (18.12.13). On a visit to the gym in Jan, she was advised by VA that her membership has been cancelled. VA then offered her the month of Jan on them while Disc was 'sorting this out' . Disc then responded that they are unable to re-instate the membership as she re-joined VA under new rules. The most recent reason from Discovery is that she shouldn't have been attending the gym against the doctors orders.

These are all excuses to simply get members to lapse their original contracts (which req 24 visits) and force new/expensive sign-ups
