DISCRIMINATION AGAINST PREGNANT WOMEN

Vitality cancelled my gym benefit due to not meeting number of gym visits while pregnant. Due to complications during my pregnancy I decided to keep up my visits by attending yoga classes. I was repeatedly sent home by different Virgin Active clubs (4 clubs) stating they have no expertise to help pregnant women exercise. Virgin staff advised me to come and just swipe my card and go home. Which I refused because I am not paying to 'just swipe' but for service. Vitality investigated this and found it to be true but told me 'my reasons were not enough to be reinstated for my gym benefit', and stated they reinstate people who didnt meet visits due to illnes. I then got a medical report from my doctor to which they responded they no longer reinstate pregnant women. I have been a loyal member to Discovery since 2005. I find it unacceptable that Vitality finds lack of service on their partner not reason enough to reinstate me, and my pregnancy complications not illness enough. What is a pregnant woman, whether with complications or not supposed to do to keep the benefit? What happens when I fall pregnant again, same thing? Pregnant women be aware of this treatment from Discovery.
