Incompetent Service by Discovery Health

I used to be a dependant on my father's Discovery medical aid. In Oct-12 I applied to become an independent member. The financial planner allocated to me by Discovery to me to get me on a specific plan - I have subsequently found out that I can't downgrade from this plan. In Nov-12 I asked a consultant to contact me - my documents had been lost 3 times and I had already visited their call centre 8 times. I am still waiting for her call. It took 5 emails directly to the CEO before I got an answer about my options that no employee could give me. I have since found out that he has an assistant dedicated just to deal with complaints directed to him. In Sep-13 I changed to a different (Discovery) adviser. He said he would contact me within 3 days to set up a meeting. Still waiting. Requests to change my details were ignored. Debit order change form that my bank manager emailed to Discovery and cc'd me on was sent to me again to be filled in. I have been trying to cancel my membership for almost 2 months. Due to their inadequate admin system my family's medical aid is now being confused with mine - they have been notified that their medical aid has been suspended. Caveat emptor!
