Trying to move onto my husbands medical aid

Customer loyalty?? what about company loyalty. My husband upgraded his medical plan with discovery in December to be effective in January. Earlier this week, we tried to add me to his medical aid which is higher than mine. BOTH OF US ARE AT DISCOVERY.
We are being told that I cannot move to his plan until December because he is on a higher plan than I am. There are two ways to be put on his medical aid 1) he downgrades his plan (which he just upgraded!!) or 2) I cancel my medical aid, go without cover for a month and then be added to his medical which might involve a waiting period being applied due to the break in cover. THIS IS INSANE! Does Discovery only take new clients in january or the entire year?? I am really really unhappy. the only answer I get is that discovery only allows upgrades on the 1st of January. NO ONE is even attempting to assist us with the matter. We have both been with discovery for a few years now and we have been loyal towards them BUT no more. I am tired of struggling with company that does not care about their clients.
