Garmin Map upgrade, out of date

Bought Map upgrade voucher and then also the required CD, After struggling to update the maps, I discovered that the software in the GPS first had to be updated. Many hours wasted trying to install the new maps but after this was done I discovered that the maps are at least 6 years out of date and the functionality of the GPS has now been compromised
