Lifetime Maps terms rediculous

I bought a tomtom with lifetime maps many months ago I downloaded the MyDrive Connect software updated my maps and everything was fine. Now i'm trying to update my maps it says my service has expired and in order to get the lifetime maps I have to have my original slip and it can't be later than 3 months from purchase. I don't understand I paid for this feature now there are unreasonable rules around getting a feature that I paid for? I don't have the slip anymore and I bought it more than 3 months ago however I was able to update previously? I'm really angry and feel cheated!
