Ought a nuvi 1390 from navi technology in September 2011 when i wanted to update the SA maps on my garmin discovered that the maps are not in the internal memory of the machine but on a SD card and US and Canadian maps where loaded on the internal memory, which means I could not buy map updates, tried calling them, after 37 calls it became evident that you cannot speak to any person there but have follow the prompts on the automated answering service and then wait for their email??After logging 6 complaints on their website and only 5 responses to remove the US maps from the machine I was informed how to remove the US but that I can not have the SA maps on the internal memory of the machine and that the maps are good for the lifetime of the machine??Why was I sold a machine with US maps for south Africa and why will they not deal with you in person?? Prior to this event I had purchased lifetime map updates for this machine and that is where my problems started so not only do I have a machine that can not be updated but I lost money while waiting to get a refund from Garmin international.
