Sequence of events in chronological order:
- called on numerous occassions on the 22 January 2013 and no one picking up the phone
Went to Caxton branch on same day to order a text book for my grade 10 son and the following bad customer service happened
- stood in a queue for 20 minutes while they served 2 customers in this time;
- when i eventually was able to order the book, it took another 10 minutes to "open an account"
- at the end of "opening my account" I was told to pay R195.00; when I queried why I should pay before I receive the text book, I was told that it is company policy; and that if I did not like it I should talk to the owner at the back.
- I then asked if I had to withdraw money at the ATM, would I still have to stand in the queue again for 30 min (the queue got longer now) and whether have to go through the procedure of "opening an account" again, I was told 'yes' in no uncertain terms by the manager.
At this stage I was too frustrated to deal with the Caxton staff and left as a very unhappy ex-customer.
