We placed an order of 60sqm tiles from said supplier and later on placed an
additional order for 10sqm where we had to wait for stock of the same.
Delivery cost for the first order was settled but one box was received
broken and returned. Seeing as the one box would have to be delivered at
suppliers cost due to the fact it was delivered broken, it was an
expectation that the 10sqm could also follow when the replacement box was delivered and free
of charge, seeing as the broken box was not our fault and the trip would need to have taken place regardless. When taking this up with AGL, they mentioned that we, as the
customer would still have to pay for delivery even if it were to have the
replacement box delivered to our premises as they contract out their
transport. Seeing as the broken box was not our fault, and on a relatively
large order of ZAR13805.40 for tiles, it would be assumed that R456.00 could
be forgotten about. In this day and age, incorporating consumer rights, it's
very unfortunate that some establishments still have such a unco-operative
attitude.
