Inspecto Services carried out the beetle, water and electrical inspection at a property that I purchased. A number of defects were listed under the electrical inspection. I checked with the attorneys whether all the defects will be fixed and they confirmed in writing that Inspecto will be fixing all the defects before they can issue the necessary Certificate of Compliance. The seller then had to pay over R5000 to fix all the electrical defects. A few months after I moved in I noticed that one of the items that Inspecto apparently fixed does not work. I contacted them to come and check out the entrance light and they send one of the technicians Godfrey. He told me that the manager Mervyn will get back to me but I never heard of them again. When I phoned Mervyn again he told me that they will be charging me R380 call out fee to come and have a look at the faulty entrance light that they apparently fixed when they issued the electrical certificate. I seriously doubt they fixed any of the items on the defects list and I feel that their certificates aint worth the paper it's printed on.
