I am a tenant who is very unhappy with the billing of my electricity. I moved in a year ago and at that time I was paying around - R380 pm for electricity. Since Voltano was contracted as the new electricity supplier in the complex, I am being billed ridiculous amounts above R1000 pm. On most days I am not even around in my apartment, I don't have many appliances and I hardly cook. In the month of July I was sent a bill that said I owe R11000, 00 for electricity, then I made an enquiry and they said it was a mistake. I automatically assumed that the billing is made up of estimated amounts. Their service is very poor to say the least, for the amounts they are charging and they don't leave the keys to the main boxes with the securities within the complex, when they have to lift a switch they charge a call out fee of R400. Companies who franchise electricity like Voltano are only interested in making chunks of profits.
