I am a a Tenant at no 1 Mondeor Flat, I have been staying there since 2010 using prepaid electricity but from 02 September 2013, they removed the prepaid meters and now we get billed for electricity. somewhere mid September we then received an account for service and lights for the period of 01/08/2103-02/09/2013. I went to the offices to enquire about the account because I did not understand why we are being billed for service and light from 01/08/2013- 02/09/2013 where as during that period we where using prepaid electricity. The Office told me the amount they we are billed for it is for corridor and garage lights and we don't have any lights at the garage, so each tenant has been billed the same amount at the end of this month we will be billed fro electricity usage for our unit. All this information was not communicated to us prior to the billing and what I want to know is that do we as tenant have to pay for corridor light? who do we complain to as I would like to take the matter further. I this matter fair when we even paid R1 114.00 for electricty deposit and now we paying for light at the corridor and the cooridor lights are only but the ammount does not match
