Mintys Umhlanga has been fitting 5 year old manufactured tyres under the pretense of them being brand new.
In a period of 2 years I have had 6 "brand new" tryes replaced, due to unusual cracks on the surface and 3 inner wall cracks. In 2019 they fitted 2014 manufactured tyres and then in 2021 they fitted 2016 manufactured tyres not to my knowledge. This was only discovered when I decided to take a closer look at the tyres and read all their specs. They still have the audacity to tell me the state of the tyres was due to my driving; driving on gravel roads and going over potholes. My sedan's tyres was then compared to the tyre conditions of a 4x4 Ford Ranger.
They do not disclose any of this information and when I tried to lay a complaint and have an investigation opened, I was told by the very arrogant manager Mohammed, that it is Minty's company policy and they are still within their 5 year warranty to fit old tyres! He then went on to tell me if I want the current (2021) manufactured tyres I need to purchase those to have the 2016 "brand new" ones replaced!
Never I have experienced such unethical, deceitful, scrupulous, cunning, unprofessional, daylight robbery from such a large multi-franchised company. The boldness to be this dishonourable is incomprehensible.
This is the reason Nexen is receiving such a terrible reputation and the reason for inexplicable tyre blowouts.
They have been willingly and knowingly endangering our lives, the reason for forfeiting insurance claims and costing us tyre expenses by having to replace them after a few months of light use.
