I have rented a chevy on special at Thrifty, When collecting at Lanseria there was a full fuel policy pamphlet on the counter, which thanks to slow service I had time to read from A-Z.
My wife had the same fuel issue in September, so I made a point to refuel just after Dainfern (Roughly 10KM away from Lanseria). I have refuelled to point that I could visually see the level (ie almost overflowing).
I was quite surprised Thrifty has managed to squeeze another 6 liters of fuel in the car (roughly 20% of the tank capacity) and obviously charge for 10 liters.
Subsequently I spoke to a friend who amazingly had the same issue.
It not about the R80, it about the charging customers for items that should not be, it's about the feeling being by Thrifty, it's about a very questionable business practice.
We have just started using Thrifty for their 'thrifty' pricing, but it looks like we better off using a more reputable provider.
