I was unexpectedly with no good reason laid off, with the excuse the company could not afford me. Mean while other employees and management were receiving 6.5% increases and what not. As you now the economic situation no one is eager to hire at the moment but mean while I have a family to feed. I'm battling for almost 2 months now to get a form from this company which I need to hand in at the U.I.F in order to claim the U.I.F funds that was deducted from my sallary. That's all I need! everytime I contact the company, its the one excuse after the other. no one answers at head office or the lady working with the U.I.F isn't in and and and. it's priority for me to receive these funds 'cause my wife is a type2 diabetic and there for independant of a insulin shot twice a day not to mention our young child. I'm frustrated, they were fast to deduct fund from my salary and now that I desprately need that money they pass the buck. what am I to do? at the U.I.F office they say go and get letter from old job, they say wait, and time is running out as you only have 3 months to claim those funds they keep me waiting for that period? then i can't claim so why then did I pay that money???
