I lodged a claim with Standard bank Home Insurance regarding a leaking roof. Prior to the claim did I get people out to look at the roof and they quoted me. I phone Standard Bank after I receive the quote and asked if they cover leaking roofs. They said yes and asked if I want to use my contractor or theirs. I said theirs will be 100%. They called me today to say that the leaking roof is due to Maintenance. I said if it was maintenance this would have happened over a period of time, but it did not. I happened just after we had all these big storms.
I asked them for their report. They said they will send to me but is still waiting.
My big concern is why do we pay for insurance if they think of stories not to pay.
