I'm glad I've made the switch

On the 17th March 2013 I tried to close my cheque account with FnB however I was told that was not possible as I needed proof of res. Apparently it was not scanned when I opened the account I asked how is that my problem the consultant said he can only close the account once I came with proof of res. Next day I went back this time I was told the account could not be closed I had pending purchases that had not yet gone through I asked how will I know when pending has cleared was told to check the account via Internet banking and unfortunately I'll have to pay the R120 bank charges running on the 20th March. My current bank could not switch all my debit orders thus some ran on the 15th April 2013 as the account was still not closed. On the 17th April I went to close the account I ended up paying R610. This amount included the R120 fixed monthly fee which normally runs on the 20th of the month. I am so glad I have stopped banking with Fnb.
