I opend a FNB account earlier this year, but due to excessive bank charges decided to close the account. I phoned the online banking call centre to close the account, seeing that it is an online account. I was told that I needed to go to my nearest branch to close the account. I did that on the 19th of July and waited to speak to a service consultant. I then had to sign documents and was told that the account will be closed within 48 hours. It has now been 10 days and R 219.28 in bank charges since and the account is still open. I have logged two incidents online as well, without response..
