Closing an acount

On November 18, 2013 I went to the FNB Southgate branch to close my account and open a new one because I had tried on numerous occasions to stop certain debit orders from going through and not succeeding. The teller told me I cant close my account as there is an outstanding amount of R1140.00 (which she called in to inquire) of the I pad tablet that I took from FNB. I asked if I can pay that money in full and close the account and she told me I have to deposit the money, R 1140.00 plus R50.00 for bank charges into the account and FNB will debit that money, I did, and when that is done the account will be closed the following day. Two days later the account had not been closed and there were debits that gone out. Now FNB has handed me over to the lawyers for the outstanding amount that I deposited into the account for it to be closed. I was going to open a business account with FNB but I'm not anymore, It clearly shows that they just want to make money off clients that are vulnerable. To be sure of this, I asked the teller if the account will be closed the following day and she said she sent the e-mail to the billing division of the I-pad and they will debit but till today.
