DID NOT RECEIVE REFUND

In Febraury 2013 around the first week my husband cancelled our car insurance with Dial Direct @ that time the call centre agent did not tell him to send a written cancellation. At the end February 2013 the usual instalment was deducted via debit order, when my husband contacted the call centre again, he was told that the money will be refunded to him in the first week of March 2013. Its now a month later and he did not receive any refund. Can you please tell me how long does it take to process a refund?
