I took out Insurance with Auto and General at the beginning of the current year.
At the time I was under the impression that they were offering the cheapest deal.
It turns out that Auto and General had quoted me on a sedan and not a hatchback.
This afternoon I called them to correct their error. they then told me my premium would increase by approximately R120. They then sent me updated documentation. To be on the safe side I decided to read through the document. I now had a basic excess of R3 800. No one mentioned that my excess would change from R0 to R3 800. I then called in again. In total they have now increases my premium by appx R350. I have never been so disappointed. This was entirely their fault but I am getting penalised. Also I had insurances offering me a better deal at the time so I could of opted for them.. I am considering changing my insurance as this is day light.
