Nedbank
Mis-leading advertising

On Nedbank's website, it states the reason why you should take a homeowner's insurance and the eye-catching line is "protects you against unexpected financial losses for example when your swimming pool leaks". On buying the property almost 2 years ago, we inquired as to what we had to cover and were advised that the swimming pool is covered. I always had knowledge of that. I phoned in, clearly stated my case and the agent at Nedbank Insurance verified the structure being covered. He gave me a claim number and said that I would be contacted shortly from the people assessing and carrying out the repairs. Now, the story seems to have changed. Apparently "wear and tear or cracks are not covered". There is a booklet that was mailed to me stating the cover of the Insurance ("Final version 2012") I haven't even received such a booklet before??? My property transfer went through on Sept 2011. I know what I signed for and what I had knowledge of. Surely if there is a change/revision, I have to receive and acknowledge this. I'm sure this is what the Agent who assisted me initially had knowledge of. Now they're back-tracking. I will be taking this to the highest level as this is not right!
