On the 17 August 2013 Absa sent Serenity Pools to do an assessment and give a quote on my swimming pool that has a leak at the bottom of the deep side of it. Serenity pools checked the pool but I was not present on this day when they checked it. Absa informed me on the 30 August 2013 that the claim was not valid because the damage to the pool was not caused by a natural disaster; it was caused by wear and tear. I am a loyal and trustworthy Absa customer for years now and find this service with regard to their insurance pathetic an unacceptable.
I have paid for an independent assessments from different companies and both are saying that my pool should have been covered by the insurance as it was clearly not according to Serenity Pools wear& tear and bad workmanship. What makes it worse is that they have the audacity that i can take my claim to the Insurance Ombudsman.
