Hollard Insurance
Unreasonablely long delay over claim

A claim was sent to Hollard on the 27th of December 2012. During the first week of Jan 2013, an assessor was sent to investigate the claim and no issues were identified. The first delay then occured after the assessor was unable to obtain the inventory listing and I had to intervene. After another prolonged delay I was informed that the inventory listing "limited" my claim to R38000, to which i disputed as a result of the valuation certificates that I originally submitted and now resubmitted which proved a value far in excess of R38000. I requested the signed inventory copy but this was never provided. After another complaint due to further delays, I was informed that an investigator will be sent. The individual concerned introduced himself as an assessor and conducted himself in a most unbecoming manner. His line of questioning resembled an interrogation rather than an assessment. They then, three months since the claim was originally submitted requested a copy of the police report (case no was submitted in January). However since then, no contact has been received from Hollard despite my best efforts which leaves me with the impression that they are not interested in helping
