We submitted funeral claim to Hollard Insurance on 31st Dec.2013, we have not been paid out. The deceased were not married but was living together with her childrens father for the past 20years. Hollard requested a letter from the ward counsellor to confirm their relationship, we have never seen or met our ward counsellor neither has the counsellor been at the residence. We then spoke to a lizzy mogale who suggested an affidavit from the police station, that is now not sufficient as well.. We are waiting on hollard to advise. So living with a life partner seems to be hard to prove to hollard where this requirement does not appear on the policy documents... One can imagine if this policy payout were needed for the burial service.
