On the evening of the 11 Feb 2013 at 18:50, my business partner went to withdraw money from an atm in Heidedal, Crossroads. Whilst struggling to retrieve the bank card from the machine, he was notified that 3 transactions (R4000, R4000 & R2000) were being withdrawn simultaneously at a Sasol garage. We immediately notified FNB and we stopped the card. FNB had the following to say; they will investigate the matter and payment will be made within 6 weeks. They could not inform us at what Sasol the incident took place, and now refuse to take responsibility for the money and are blame shifting the responsibility of the R10000.00 on my business partner. Their exact words, " we don't take responsibility for the money that disappeared out of your bank account". Its unacceptable as we only have one bank card between the two business owners.

I pride myself banking with FNB and their brilliant service as well as their prevention system; this is not the first incident of this nature. Previously they tried withdrawing money in Lesotho and FNB immediately notified us, but this time they failed dismally.
