On the 05 th May 2013, I tried to withdraw money from a Standard Bank at Bara Mall. The machine swallowed my card. I immediately called standard Bank and notified them about the incident and also told them to cancel my card. On the 06 th May I went to Standard Bank to report and apply for a replacement card. They referred me to the dept where they gave me a reference number: 3215313 so that I can get a new card. while I was waiting for my card, I asked the enquiries teller to check my balance because I had R1950.00 in my account when my card was swallowed. To my surprise, the consultant told me that there was no money in the account. I did not understand how the money was withdrawn because I have a daily limit of R1000 so how is it possible for R1950 to be withdrawn from an ATM machine?
On the 17th May I received a call from the department informing me that it will take them 20 days to investigate the matter. They gave me reference number: 2013051700262.
On the 25th May I received another call from the Standard Bank department informing me that the bank will only refund me 50% of my money. (R975.00) was paid on the 27th May.
I need my full refund!!!
