Domestic defrauded from tampered Standard Bank ATM

My domestic tried to withdraw money at 06h00 at the Motherwell Standard Bank ATM. She put in her card and pin and the ATM started to flash. She pressed cancel numerous times. The ATM would not release her card. She phone me, her employer at 06h00. I told her to go straight to the bank when it opens and get her card. 12 minutes after the machine swolled her card, R3300 was withdrawn from her account. She was notifed by sms. She was at the bank as soon as it opened. She did not know to cancel the card and neither did I. There were no security cameras at the ATM nor any security guards to prevent tampering. Standard Bank refuse to refund her her money as she only reported it when the bank opened. Is it fair to refuse to refund because of ignorance. When my domentic opened her account at Standard Bank she should have been advised about daily limits. Her limit should have been R1000 and not R4000. She does not earn R4000 a month! The ATM is Standard Banks property. If it is tampered with, it is no fault of my domestic. She is a poor ignorant person who has been defrauded of her entire May salary and Standard Bank refuse to take responsibility or ownership..
