Damage to Car and Sasol takes no responsibility

6 weeks ago my wife has her car washed at the local Sasol garage, The Fig Tree branch in Port Elizabeth. Whilst being washed the attendant in error scratched the side of the car to the value of R10, 200. The scratch was immediately noticed when we collected the car, and the garage acknowledge it must have happened in Their care. We agreed to get quotes and then agree a way forward and he would also check on his short term policy to see if he could claim for the damages.

Turns out no insurance was held by the garage. For 6 weeks now we have trying to get hold of the owner Ebrahim Khan to no avail. We have gone to the garage 6 times now, each time we are told he is out, despite his car parked outside. We have left almost 15 messages at the office, which he never returns.

We have now paid ourselves for the repair, just over R10, 000, but am posting this message to show bad business practice of this branch of Sasol.

Lets hope Sasol themselves assist the owner to realize that if you don't have loyal clients and at least return calls, you will not be in business for long!!!
