I Opened a new cheque acc at Standard bank after having lost everything and being unemployed for 5 years. I was not informed that i owe any outstanding money or any money was owed. Upon first deposit Standard bank blue bean took R3500 without any chance to make alternative arrangements or to prepare. This money was for my rent where I live. I am a widow and have a 6 year old son and now I cannot pay our rent this month. Standard bank has all my contact details so they could have informed me and to discuss payment arrangement, but they did not even make a single call. All I ask is a chance to make arrangement and not to take what I honestly cannot afford.
