Bad business practice

Last October i closed my cheque account and opened a savings account with Standard Bank.i got a call early January from the bank saying my account had an arr ea amount of R6741, 30 of which the caller could not explain where is that coming from. I promised him that i will go to the branch to find out and the next weekend i visited the branch i Thohoyandou where i attended the funeral over that weekend. They informed me there that they i should go to where i opened the cancelled account because it is a prestige which is controlled by a particular person. The following Monday i got ans sms that my money was transferred from my savings account to the cheque account to cover the arr-ear amount. The following day i took a day off to find out why this has happened and i was informed that they cant reverse the money back. I feel i was treated badly because if it was a case of the account not cancelled why was i given a chance to make arrangement to repay back if they feel the mistake was not on their side. I s it allowed to make that transaction without the owners concert? i wrote a letter to plead poverty but they said its not enough to warrant a transaction reversal.
